i took a dive and I am swimming in it in a sea of love I am drowning I sank to the bottom and fell from the skies again and I climbed to the top of the mountain stepped to the edge now I’m flying all to land in your fountain see dear the crickets in the brushed grass the alabaster fields at mass dusk and dawn in dew when it comes feels like I am young again Autumn is a woolled friend who fears never death I am not as strong as he lord I am not as free but I shall keep good company if it, my wish, to be

blackdog 05:49
she took off in the meadow round here they called her a black dog he stood to watch her go in a field of grey all wet with snow he drank and he played his banjo he warbled in the spring I warble in the snow over the mountain wherever she goes over the mountain cold coyote calls where is she now If I could ramble like a mourning hound I'd wear my hair down she took off in the meadow round here they called her a black dog

timber 02:42
It’s cold in December and the leaves have fallen There’s ice on the river I hear my baby calling He’s calling out Timber Timber is the colour of my love I know I got lost on my way but there’s nothing I could do to change it I don’t know if I quite believe it but I think the path is written babe I wrote this song a long ago before I knew you I sing it now, and there’s no doubt I know I wrote it for you If the song remains the same it is we who like the seasons change If there is one God I believe in it is the one to change the seasons We wake to see the dusk and the dawn We’re living in the Spring, and in the Autumn It’s cold in December and the leaves have fallen There’s ice on the river I hear my baby calling He’s calling out Timber Timber is the colour of my love

red maple 01:55

I saw the gold in the flower grow down in the Southern meadow Down where the Merry go Couldn’t see the water, couldn’t see the stream Couldn’t see the wild billowing wind Oh my my, what a way to go take a little trip in the knee deep snow Down where the Merry go Saw a little robin on his own said ‘oh little girl won’t you run on home’ Oh my my, what a way to go take a little trip in the knee deep snow Down where the Merry go Said a little raven to a crow ‘black on white is beautiful’ Oh my my, what a way to go take a little trip in the knee deep snow Come home come home you little turtle dove I’ll come on home when the maples bud Oh my my, what a way to go take a little trip down to Mexico

dreamt of a bare winter woods, oak stand still and quiet red squirrel stirring around in the snow I fell deep till nature come and lay by me was it I died? or would I know this as the other side? I was waiting hoping you would find me and it would be all right followed the birchblack trail fell upon a gurgling brook a woodpecker, a chickadee sheltered in the trees something I had never known.. or was it I had never cared to, hear those pretty songs? I was waiting hoping you would find me and it’d be all right Love it is an anchor for the storms above I can not quiet Here I am in a field of white White as blue on a winter’s night Just me and that rolling moon, rolling on our way to you

oh we oughta 02:55
I’ll buy you a sundress in Louisiana darling I’ll buy you feathered pillows in Louisiana darling I’ll find you wool in the black mountain ridge to keep you warm on the path you take I’ll be a fool and you’ll be the one I’m fooling Beneath a milky moon we’ll dance ’til the birds come chirping I’ll find you overalls somewhere in California and we’ll be wearing old corduroys singing sweet songs by the water sometime in September Oh we Oughta Down by the water down where it’s still bright I sang a sad little song in the night singing ‘Oh how we oughta, oh when we could of, we oughta had us a time we oughta had us a time…’

seasons 00:57
Spring came along and I sang a song Summer came and I lost my way Autumn fell and I wished him well But Winter’s here to stay…

about

songs of love and the seasons - this album was recorded in the woods of the Gatineaus, with friends Corey Pool and Ellorie McKnight. It was mixed and mastered by Stephan Nesrallah, and the beautiful artwork was made by Kate Greenland. The title is a play on time passing, revealed by the greying of locks. But with it, it is hoped, we are met by grace... Early greys
